Grace Bible Chapel had humble beginnings as a Bible study group which began to meet weekly in September 2005 in the home of one of our attendees. After several years of faithful study, the Lord led us to prayerfully consider incorporating into an Independent Bible Church. Grace Bible Chapel was chosen as the name and articles of incorporation were filed with the Pennsylvania State Department and application was made with the IRS for an identification number as non-profit church organization. A Doctrinal or Beliefs Statement was developed and agreed to and a constitution for operating procedures was developed. For over three years, we met each Sunday for worship and Sunday school in the Black Lick Fire Hall and on Thursday evenings, we met for Bible study in the Training Seminar Room of Perfetti Trucking.
On June 2, 2013, following a prayerful search for a meeting place, we had our first worship service in our own church building which God miraculously provided at 165 Walnut Street in Black Lick, PA as we took ownership of the former Free Methodist Church building. In addition, we have a personal care home ministry at Breezy Point Senior Care Center in Black Lick where we hold 1 service each Sunday afternoon for the residents there. This ministry has been ongoing since 2006 with nearly every resident, over the years, receiving Christ's free gift of salvation. John Johnson was the lead church planter for Grace Bible Chapel and has been serving as Bible study leader and interim pastor since the beginning of Grace Bible Chapel’s ministry. He previously served as an Elder at Bethany Chapel in Marion Center, Pennsylvania which is the sister church of Grace Bible Chapel.
